From rail to trail
The first of its kind in the State of Michigan, the Paint Creek Trail was converted from a former railroad track from the former Penn Central Railroad. Running for 8.9 miles, the non-motorized trail can be enjoyed from Rochester to Lake Orion.
Dragon on the Lake Fest attracts thousands of attendees to Lake Orion each summer. The lively event features dragon boat racing, live entertainment, and nighttime boat parade on the lake. The festival gets its namesake from a century old legend that a ‘ferocious monster’ was reportedly spotted in the lake back in 1894.
